Welcome to Mish'n Nutrition! I'm a Chicago-based registered dietitian nutritionist on a "mish'n" to promote good nutrition. Okay enough with the cheesy rhymes....but actually, it's my mission to provide inspiration and tips for healthy living. There is no question that nutrition is one of the most important foundations of our overall health. It certainly can be complex and confusing at times, but I'm here to make it as simple as possible for you.
On my page, you'll mostly find healthy recipes and easy meal ideas with the occasional sprinkle of informational articles or health living tips. Nutrition is extremely individualized, so by no means should the information provided on here replace personalized medical or nutritional advice! A little bit about me:
I graduated from the University of Illinois in May 2016 with a BS in Dietetics and the University of Kansas Medical Center in May 2018 with a MS in Dietetics & Nutrition. I also have a graduate certificate in Dietetics in Integrative Medicine. I worked as a clinical dietitian (both inpatient and outpatient) for 2.5 years and recently switched into the world of precision nutrition with a biotech startup. I have a wide variety of experience, but my specialties are weight management, gut health, diabetes, and functional/integrative nutrition.
I'm a foodie at heart; I believe that all foods can fit into a balanced life. I developed a love of cooking after I graduated college and I love experimenting in the kitchen. I'm no fancy master chef, but I come up with some pretty solid creations!
Besides nutrition, my greatest passion in life is dance. I grew up dancing and am so lucky to continue my passion as an assistance coach for a high school dance team on the side of my dietetics career. I also like to keep active with various types of exercise including strength training, boxing, yoga (especially hot yoga!), and walking. I adore hiking and traveling. It's my goal to hike in every national park in the US and travel to several countries! I'm an animal lover and fur-mama to my beautiful 2-year-old mixed breed pup, Libby. In my spare time, I love to read and write.
